Follow an Ant Trail

Go and find a trail of ants and see if you can find both ends of the trail. You might be surprised how long it really is.
Once you find the ends, calculate the following:
  • length of trail
  • estimated time it takes for an ant to travel it
  • estimated speed of an ant
  • estimated speed if the ant were the size of a car
  • an estimate of how many ants are on the trail at one time

You can also place an object on the trail and see how long it takes them to establish a new favorite route around or over the object.
Proverbs 6:6-8 ESV - "Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest"
