Explore Bible Lands Via Satelite

Using satellite view of your favorite maps program/app, explore the Bible lands: from Egypt, to Jerusalem to Rome.

Organise a Testimonies Collection

Create a book, blog, DVD or online video channel filled with testimonies from your family or church. Have it added to your church library or website.

Have a Testimony Sharing Session

Within your family, or extending to you church's members, plan to have a session of sharing each person's testimony with the group. It could be a conversion story, a look at one's walk over their lifetime, or simply events and feelings during the week just past. Give some warning so those less comfortable with speaking in a group can gather their thoughts and perhaps write down their story to present.

Interview Your Family Elders

Set a time to interview the seniors of your family, or church family, individually or together. Consider videoing the session for future generations to view. Speak about life when they were children, the places they've lived and travelled, their 'religious' walk to and/or from religions affiliation, what they wish they had then, which they have now, and what they're glad they didn't have then, which they have now, life though WWII etc.

Visit Family Grave Sites

Visit the grave site of family and friends or research where family members are buried that you have never visited. Spend a moment remembering the good times, read some Bible promises and spend some time observing the landscape of graves and imagine the excitement there will be at this location the hour Jesus returns.

Look up the Story of Hymns

Research the history and story behind Christian Hymns, both popular and not so popular.

Read Out Loud Historic Accounts

Sit around and read out loud an exciting / inspirational book about missionaries or pioneers. Choose one good reader or take turns. Put a bit of life in the words too - not just read it in a monotone. You could also play some quiet instrumental or classical music in the background to set the mood and bring the stories to life!

Explore Your Local Church's History

Research the history of your local church. Find out how and when it started, significant dates, events and people involved, find old photos, lists of church positions held etc. Get the info by asking older members of your church, visit the library, look online, ask administration offices of your church or search periodical newsletter archives. Perhaps compile all the information and have it put in your church library as a book or DVD.

Explore Your Denomination's History

Research the history of your church organisation, how the denomination and its beliefs were formed - You can start at a national or international level or go all the way from the time of Christ to today!

Tell Stories of the Past

Tell your children or grandchildren stories about what it was like when you were their age - or ask your parents or grandparents what things were like in their days. Topics could include: Transport, food, clothing, games, church, work, holidays, medication, pets, communication technology etc
